We are pleased to announce the two keynote speakers for VCBM 2015.
Professor Denis Noble CBE FRS FRCP will deliver a keynote talk on “”What is Life? A systems biology perspective”. Professor Noble held the Burdon Sanderson Chair of Cardiovascular Physiology at the University of Oxford from 1984 to 2004 and was appointed Professor Emeritus and co-Director of Computational Physiology. He is one of the pioneers of System Biology and developed the first viable mathematical model of the working heart in 1960.
Our second speaker is Stéphane Cotin, Research Director at Inria and Head of the SHACRA team. His research interests are in biomechanical modeling, real-time simulation, and physics-based modeling. He specializes in medical applications, from training to planning of complex medical procedures. Stéphane will deliver a talk on “Numerical simulation in medicine: from training to per-operative guidance”.
